Why I Write: A Quiet Journey of Faith and Life

Sometimes we do not write because we have answers — but because we are still walking, still listening, and slowly learning where the light comes from.

Some people begin writing because they have something to teach.

I began writing because I had something to understand.

Life, as I have learned, is not always loud. Many of its deepest lessons arrive quietly — through conversations, through seasons of waiting, through love that shapes us, and through moments of loss that teach us how precious every ordinary day truly is.

Over time, writing became a way for me to listen more carefully to life. It allowed me to gather small pieces of meaning — a word spoken at the right time, a memory that lingers, a gentle reminder from Scripture, or the quiet assurance that God is walking with us even when the road feels uncertain.

My journey has been filled with both gratitude and longing. I have known the joy of companionship, the comfort of shared laughter, and also the tenderness of remembering someone deeply loved. Through all these seasons, faith has remained the steady light that gently guides my steps forward.

I do not write because I have all the answers. I write because I believe that honest reflection can bring peace — and that when we share our stories sincerely, we remind one another that no heart walks alone.

If my words sometimes feel personal, it is because they come from a real journey. And if they offer comfort, then perhaps it is simply because God allows light to pass through the ordinary lives we live each day.

Here, I write as a fellow traveler — learning,

trusting, and continuing to walk forward one

 step at a time.

The Power of Thanksgiving - 7

The Power of Thanksgiving -7

“Enter his gates with thanksgiving and

his courts with praise.” (Psalm 100:4)

Gratitude is the key that unlocks joy. When

we give thanks, our eyes shift from what we lack

to the  abundance we already hold. The psalmist

reminds us  that thanksgiving is not occasional—

it is the posture  of a heart that knows God is

good. Even in trials, there  is something to thank

Him for. Gratitude transforms  prayer, softens

worry, and makes room for peace.

Prayer:

Thank You, Lord, for the gift of life, for breath, for love,

for hope. Teach me to see blessings hidden in ordinary

days. May thanksgiving become my language of worship.

Amen.

The Best Medicine - A Dose of Your Kindness

A Dose of Your Kindness

A few weeks back — yes, both in March and this very moon — I was pretty much a soggy tissue slumped on the couch. Or, to put it another way, a sick potato wrapped in blankets, binge-reading comical life stories just to soothe my weary soul.

And then — bam! — your “get well soon” messages dropped in like shots of love-powered espresso straight into my sluggish system. Talk about the best kind of immune booster! ☕💥

The doctor said (with that serious face): “Make sure you finish the entire course of medicine…”
Lilian, with her wise heart, added, “Medicine alone won’t help — you need good rest and buckets of water too.”
And then came Wendy Claire and Dorothy with their practical advice: “No more fruits or salad!” (Who knew salad could be so suspicious?) But hey, I’m coughing a lot less now, so hats off to you all!

Thank you, dear friends, for your sunshine-filled messages, warm thoughts, and practical wisdom. You’ve been the sweetest part of my recovery — the real prescription I needed. 💛🌤️

“A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones.” — Proverbs 17:22

Your kindness reminded me again how gratitude multiplies joy. In life’s aches and coughs — sometimes, it’s not just the pills or the rest, but the love of friends that helps us heal.

The Power of Daily Gratitude

Gratitude is a transformative practice that enriches our lives by shifting our focus from what we lack to the abundance we already possess. By embracing gratitude daily, we nurture a positive mindset, strengthen relationships, and find joy in life’s simple moments. Oprah Winfrey once said, “Be thankful for what you have; you'll end up having more. If you concentrate on what you don’t have, you will never, ever have enough.”

When life gives you lemons, make lemonade

Practicing gratitude helps us see life’s challenges as opportunities for growth, fostering resilience and contentment. As William Arthur Ward wisely remarked, “Gratitude can transform common days into thanksgivings, turn routine jobs into joy, and change ordinary opportunities into blessings.” Let us cultivate the habit of gratitude, not just for the extraordinary, but for every moment that makes life beautiful.
